Crtic of Oliver Stone’s The Untold History of the United States
Di José Higlesias
“We live most of our lives in a fog, all of us (…) I believe History does have a meaning, does have a purpose, and there is a pattern to be found”… I never thought I would have considered Oliver Stoone’s words as sage. Manichaean arrogant, direct, harsh, brash, brave even, but never sage. And even if they have been surely written by his co-author Peter Kuznick they reliably illustrate his goal in their series The Untold History of the United States. Even if it doesn’t go to the people’s core, like in the Hosbawn, Zinn or Harman’s school of thought it shows a great effort on the part of mainstream “liberal” showbusiness to offer an alternative, more horizontal view, of the makings of history.
